Day After D-Day

About The Programme

On June 6, 1944, an invasion force like the world had never seen hit the beaches of Normandy. Thousands perished in a life-and-death struggle to gain a foothold in France and liberate Europe from the yoke of Nazi Germany.

Though D-Day is forever etched into the annals of history, it was just the beginning. This documentary examines the crucial 72 hours following the invasion, as told by veterans who fought in the villages, beaches, hedgerows and bridgeheads of Normandy.
